A New Day, A New Chapter

Ladies and Gentlemen, Friday is upon us!

No more school, no more books, no more teachers, dirty looks!

And here is the chance for you lucky escapees to read a new chapter of my Serial, Unbreakable. Chapter 14 has  been written, edited and posted for your reading pleasure.

And here is the part where you ask, “but Mr. Callido (please, call me Angel), what happened to posting on Thursdays?” The answer really won’t surprise you. I was one day late for posting because my best friend was coming into the city, and what should I discover but that more people seem to have more time to read my serial and cast their votes on a Friday! What a goose I’ve been! So for now,  I will be posting new chapters of Unbreakable on Fridays.

In all fairness, folks, it’s a psychological thing for me as well. It feels like I’ve got one more day per week to come up with something dynamite for my readers. That may not technically be the case, but like so many of us, I too succumb to the temptation to take it easier on a Friday. I’m lucky if I even sign a check that day, let alone write an email. So come, enjoy the fruits of my labor, thank my best friend for helping me to edit this chapter as she does so many others, and enjoy the read! Kenshiro’s waiting for you, and we all know how crazy HE gets, right?’

Don’t forget to vote on my chapters. You, my loyal readers, know this. Bring others along for the ride, and don’t forget to tell them to sign up and vote! Logan needs to hone his powers, doesn’t he? He can’t if there’s no reason. Think of the children! Even if they are somehow … different.

Oh Yeah? Well read this!

That’s right, ladies and germs. The ninth chapter of my serial, ‘Unbreakable’ is up and ready for your reading pleasure at Jukepopserials.com. As always, remember to cast your vote for me if this meets with your approval. I’ve worked hard to eliminate the formatting issue that I encountered just after I posted chapter eight last week.  It takes quite a bit to write and edit these chapters. Fun as it is to come up with a great end product, I don’t enjoy editing as much as I enjoy writing, but it matters a great deal to me. Just ask anyone who’s ever seen me review the writing of others on writing.com sometime. 😉

Read, enjoy, vote, and tell your friends to read and vote on Unbreakable if they like paranormal horror. Tell your friends to tell their friends too! The more the merrier! I think there may be something for everyone in this story (unless you’re looking for erotica. That will come with my first book 😛 )

On an even happier note, I’ve just hit 50 votes! I’m stoked. Now it’s time to push that number up even higher. Got comments? Bring ’em!

Got milk? Meh. I’ll take a Guiness instead.

Lucky Number Seven .. Just in Time for Halloween.

Hurricane Sandy obviously gave me a lot of fodder for writing. Writing formed the crux of how I got through this with the sanity I still possess. For those who sent me well wishes and good energy, thanks. You know who you all are.

I’ve got a new chapter to the ‘Unbreakable’ serial on Jukepopserials.com.  My chapters have no titles, alas. I’m just bad at those.

Halloween is here and I have no plans for it, really. I just got off a seven hour shift at my local B & N. I’m tired, but I’ve got a writing contest to enter and a book to continue editing.  I wish you all a ghoulish Halloween. If you want scary, come check out ‘Unbreakable.’

On a side note that is far more boring and technical, I have to wonder how many users know to scroll down after each chapter to give it a vote. Automatic voting apparently doesn’t work, or I don’t understand what the heck it means. For those who want to check out the serial for the first time, remember to create an account to cast your vote for any chapter you read and like. You’ll have to scroll down a little further once you’ve read said chapter in order to find the option to vote. The option can be found in a link with grey letters. I know some were having trouble getting their votes registered, and a recent reader informed me that directions for voting are not incredibly obvious. Since I KNOW my writing kicks ass, I KNOW I’ll be getting more votes, right? 😉

At any rate, check it out, cast a vote, or even send a comment to twitter or Facebook. There are buttons somewhere on the page that allow you to contact me directly that way. If you have comments, questions, unwanted pregnancies … wait, scratch that last one, then drop me a line. I’ll respond as soon as I can.  Think the story needs to take on a new direction? Try and convince me how true that is. The only promise I will make is to take your idea under consideration, but you NEVER know 😉

Happy Halloween, all. Check out ‘Unbreakable.’ I dare you.

Heaven help us all – Chapter 6 is here!

As I promised my loyal and future readers, chapter 6 of “Unbreakable” is here! I’ve tried to closely edit this one, as I do all of my work. With the postings being the final thing that the whole world can read, I want to put my best foot forward each time.

Once again, be prepared ..

If you haven’t already, sign up and cast your votes!

I’ll be back next week with more. Adios for now! And thanks for your support!

Chapters 1-5

Howdy, readers.

It seems that the website for Jukepopserials.com has evolved. Either that, or I’ve discovered a feature that’s new to me.  Each of the serials on the site now reports the number of votes that each story has obtained. I was able to hover the point of my mouse over my serial, “Unbreakable,” and read the total number of votes I’ve gotten so far for my five chapters. That number is 22. I’m happy!

I am able to see where I rank literally by looking at where the cover for “Unbreakable” is in relation to the other covers to other serials. It would seem that this can be done by genre.

I’ll just say I aim to be the best.

I think in time, I will garner more votes. I prefer to allow my writing to speak for itself. But I know my kick-ass  new cover is going to get more and more attention. It seems that people need to get onto the site and create an account to cast their votes. I urge as many of you as possible to do this. I just KNOW you’ll like my story, so I’ve no need to worry that you’ll sign up and cast a vote my way, right? 😉

I no longer feel a need to project a false humility about my talent. It’s there. But pure talent is not enough. Practice makes perfect, and there is no way for me to hone my craft if there are no readers to appreciate it.  So go, read, enjoy! The moment you elect to read more of my chapters, I get a vote. I just hope to keep my readers’ interest in the long run with my crazy imagination.

Chapter 6 of ‘Unbreakable’ will be arriving this Thursday. It’s already underway. Let’s just say things are about to take a turn ..

Chapter 5 is ALIVE!

Don’t mind me. I’m having a doctor Frankenstein moment as I set up and post the latest chapter of my “Unbreakable” serial at Jukepopserials.com. I can’t believe a week has come and gone so quickly. I also can’t believe I was able to write this while in the fog of cough medicine and herbal tea. I wonder what this could possibly bring to my work?

This week, I’ll give special thanks to J. Marie Ravenshaw for her input and support in this latest installment. As my eyes were crossing, I needed a second, critical pair to make sure I brought my readers quality work. She has helped me to do that. Check out her blog and you’ll understand why I came to her for advice.

I hope you all enjoy. Don’t forget to cast your votes.

I am also hoping to be able to bring you a new cover for this serial sometime in the near future. One way or another, it shall be done.

Read on! Thanks for all your support!

New Chapter!

Hello all!

I just thought you would all like to know that a third chapter to my serial is up and ready for your reading pleasure! Check it out at Jukepop Serials! Look for the Serial called ‘Unbreakable’ by Angel D. Callido and click on the link. The white form in the forest is the temporary cover for my story. It’s that easy!

Just a note, I try to edit my own work as closely as possible. I know it doesn’t always turn out perfectly, but I try to keep a  sharp eye to my writing. I wince when I read mistakes in others’ writing, especially if I happen to like the material.  Feel free to point out any mistakes you DO find, but bear in mind that once I publish each chapter, I can’t go back and revise it. It’s kind of a final post each time, since each chapter needs to garner enough votes in order for me to stay in the public eye with this serial.

If you haven’t submitted votes yet (and you actually think my stuff is worth it), please cast your vote for me on the website. Your support is needed and appreciated, but only if I earn it. This warrior strives to hone his craft, always.

Enjoy! 😉
